The Harvard Club of Switzerland was founded in 1960 by several Business School graduates. Meetings were informal lunches at various Zurich restaurants. Soon the group included non Business School and Harvard College graduates. In September 1974 the club became a legal structure. Now more than 890 alumni of Harvard College or one of the various Harvard Graduate Schools and Faculties maintain their ties with Harvard through membership in the Harvard Club of Switzerland.
The purpose of the Club is to unite the alumni of Harvard University in Switzerland, to promote the interests of these alumni in the academic and extra curricular activities of Harvard University, to gather and disseminate information on Harvard, to represent the interests of the University in Switzerland and generally to do all to promote and encourage communications between the University and its alumni resident in Switzerland.
All alumni of Harvard University’s academic programs or anybody who has studied at Harvard for one year or longer is eligible for membership.
The Harvard Club of Switzerland has a chapter in Zurich and one in Geneva. Once a month, except during holiday season, both chapters organize luncheons with guest speakers covering a wide range of topics. Guided tours of exhibitions and musical evenings are organized for a cultural accent, golf tournaments for the sporty, wine tasting for bon vivants.
